Once discovered, many visitors return to Pissouri Bay year after year.  It has a good range of facilities, but has not been over-developed.  This appeals to families and couples alike.  There are only two hotels (the 4* Columbia Beach Hotel, and its sister, the luxurious 5* Columbia Resort) and some self-catering apartments and villas.

Restaurants and Tavernas

The Vineleaf Tavern near the villa caters for locals and tourists and features traditional Cyprus Night music and dancing with a self-service buffet on Friday evenings from May to October.

There is also a Cyprus Night up the hill in Pissouri Village Square on Wednesday evenings.  A visit to this is recommended, for the food and atmosphere, as well as the entertainment.

The Columbia Beach Hotel and Columbia Resort have a range of restaurants and bars.

Kastro's has reopened after an extensive refurbishment

Yialos Tavern specialises in fish dishes

Limanaki serves delicious Lebanese/Mediterranean cuisine, and is very popular, so book early (our firm favourite!)

Pissouri Bay Garden is a popular Indian restaurant

Other restaurants in the resort are Perry's, Captain's Bay, Artemis, Ammos, Ampeli and Pizza Venetto.

Agamemnon and The Old Customs House offer beachside snacks.

Skipper's Bar offers satellite tv coverage of major sporting events, including UK football.

The Beach

The beach has been awarded a European Blue Flag for cleanliness and its facilities.  Ramps give access to the beach, and a concrete path runs along the rear of the sands.

There is safe bathing in the bay, with lifeguards operating a flag system.  A wide variety of water sports is available from the western end of the beach.  These include windsurfing, kayaking, water skiing, jet skiing, sailing, pedalos, banana boat rides, paragliding and ring rides.  There are also boat trips to neighbouring beaches.

Loungers and parasols are available on the beach, which is part sand and part shingle, so it's helpful to bring beach shoes.

A sea breeze reduces temperatures in summer, making Pissouri the perfect resort for windsurfing and kite surfing.

In July and August, small sections of the beach may be cordoned off to protect turtles' nests.
