Pissouri Bay is mid-way between
Paphos and Limassol, and
approximately 25 minutes by car from each along the main A6
motorway.
It
is about 3 km from the larger hilltop settlement of Pissouri
Village.
Airports
Paphos has the closer airport (30 km, 20 minutes), but there are more
flights to Larnaca (110 km, 70 minutes).
Taxi Transfers
A
taxi from Paphos airport should cost €30 - €35, depending on
your arrival time, although unless you have pre-booked, you may
well find the driver trying to charge you more. As elsewhere, agree the price before
entering the taxi. Current
official rates at Cyprus
Tourism Organisation. For small groups, we can arrange transfers for
you.
Cyprus
adopted the Euro in January 2008.
Car Hire
Pissouri Bay has enough facilities to enable you to
holiday comfortably without a car. Should you wish
to explore further afield, UK drivers will
find motoring in Cyprus easy, as driving is on the left.
Car hire is available from many
companies at both airports, and also in Pissouri itself. Petsas Car Hire
is the largest Cypriot company. You can pre-book
local car hire at Select
Car Rentals.
If
you want to pick up a car at the airport for your whole stay, we recommend you use a
comparison website such as Travel
Supermarket.
Flights
The
main airlines offering scheduled services between the UK and
Cyprus are British
Airways
(daily Heathrow to Larnaca and Gatwick to Paphos flights), Monarch
Airlines,
and Cyprus
Airways.
The
official website of Cyprus airports is a most useful
resource, as it enables you to quickly find which airlines
are flying particular routes, and on which days.
(Flight Info > Scheduled Timetable). Cheap
budget flights to Cyprus can be obtained by booking early
with the following low cost carriers: easyJet
(Gatwick or Manchester to Paphos daily, Luton to Paphos 3
times a week, Bristol to Paphos 4 times a week),
Jet2
(Leeds Bradford to Paphos), FlyThomasCook
(flights from a wide selection of UK regional airports to
Paphos and Larnaca).
