The beach has been awarded a European Blue Flag for cleanliness and its facilities. Ramps give access for wheelchairs and pushchairs, and a concrete path runs along the rear of the sands. The beach itself is a mixture of sand and shingle.
There is safe bathing in the bay, with lifeguards operating a flag system in the summer months. A wide variety of water sports is available. We particularly recommend Chris Watersports run by our friendly and professional next door neighbours Jeff and Mo. New this season: Free WiFi, drinks and snacks delivered to the beach from Smoothie and Sweetie. You can even try a flyboard which propels you 30 feet above the waves.
From July to September small sections of the beach may be cordoned off to protect turtle nests (see photo).
